Lantivet Duo Autumn Series no. 1: with special guest Delia Stevens (percussion)

The Lantivet Duo are joined by wonderful percussionist Delia Stevens in a live-stream concert from their living room in Penge. It will be cramped - she will be playing the vibraphone, hang drum, cajon, snare, and darabuka in a programme that will take you around the world from your living room! You can expect two brand new pieces collaboratively written by the musicians, Vivaldi, 18th Century Indian music, Piazonore, some Spanish dances, and a new arrangement of traditional British folk tunes.

Delia Stevens is one of the UK’s leading percussionists of her generation; a BBC Young Musician of the Year Category Finalist, subsequently winning the Royal Northern College of Music’s Concerto and Gold Medal Competitions. International concerto highlights include Krakow’s Last Night of the Proms (Beethoven Academy Orchestra) and a 5-date Germany tour (Neue Lausitzer Philharmonie).

Delia champions innovative chamber music through unconventional ensembles; she co-founded the Aurora Percussion Duo and world-music collective Kabantu, both winning the Royal Over-Seas League Competition, including a £10,000 prize and recitals at the Southbank Centre and the Edinburgh Festival. Both groups have given TED-Talks and been broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Performance highlights include the BBC Proms (Royal Albert Hall), BBC Free Thinking Festival, Forbidden City Concert Hall (Beijing), Lucerne Festival and collaborations with the BBC Singers and Manchester Camerata. Delia is currently the Senior Lecturer in Percussion at Leeds Conservatoire.
